The novel in the Argeneau Series is really a preqel of sorts. Lissania is the sister we hear bits and pieces about in the previous books. She is the one in the family who faints at the sight of blood. She either has to have it “off the hoof” or intraveneously.

She meets Mr. Right (Greg) after her mother delivers him tied up to her bed as a little birthday present. There’s something weirdly pimpish about that… Anyway, after a few hours of captivity Greg seems to get over being pissed off and decides he likes Lissania. Lissania also likes him and wants to keep him. Then comes the predictable explanation to the human about vamipires which Greg has a hard time believing (shocker). There are some funny parts to this book like when they refer to ordering in Chinese, they mean sucking the blood of the Chinese delivery boy. Also the blood bank that caters to vampires with varieties like diabetic blood for a sweet tooth or for those who want to get high, blood from an alcoholic or a pot smoker. Very clever.

You can pretty much read Sands’ books in any order since they weren’t really published in order. Sands has more characters that will probably carry on the series and Thomas may get his story next.
