Nell Harris is a Charmer, someone who unmakes curses and creates protective wards. Nell is reluctant to use her magical powers since they went seriously wrong the last time she tried. She thinks she has been offered the chance (as a historian) to examine an ancient armor breastplate. Instead the owner wants her to use her Charmer skills to rescue a kidnapped child from a demon lord, Asmodeus.
Then, Nell meets haunted and sexy Adrian Tomas. A Dark One who has been bound to the demon lord and forced to betray his people. Nell will do whatever it takes to rescue this hunk who could be her soulmate. Nell is MacAlisters typical anti-heroine, she’s a little handicapped and a very insecure. It’s a charming little story and a lots of fun.
