Fifth in the Southern Vampire Mysteries Series. Sookie Stackhouse seems to be an accident magnet. Someone is shooting the shape shifters in town. Her boss Sam (a were-dog) gets shot and she becomes a target for murder when her house is set on fire.
Sookie also winds up entangled in werewolf politics when Alcide Herveaux needs her help to get his Dad elected as the next pack master. On top of everything else, Jason her brother is now a were-panther. Between one thing and another Sookie is a very busy girl. Harris’s vampire series remains one of the best out there.
