Fourth in the Southern Vampire Mysteries Series. Sookie finds the head vampire Eric, running naked and terrified through the woods. Eric has been attacked and his memory erased by a coven of extremely powerful witches. The coven has put a bounty on his head so Sookie must hide him.
This presents an interesting situation for her. She has always found Eric, a former Viking, to be attractive but overbearingly arrogant and devious. This new Eric is sweet, kind, and protective which may prove dangerous to Sookie’s heart. Her brother Jason goes missing after seeing Eric, and Sookie finds herself in the middle of a war among vampires, witches and werewolves. Another great Sookie Stackhouse story.
