This book introduces us to Elizabeth (Betsy) Taylor aka “The Queen of the Vampires”. Betsy is an immature vampire with a shoe obsession who does not want to admit that she’s dead. After being turned into a vampire she discovers an unpleasant surprise: She is the Queen of the Vampires as prophesied in the Book of the Dead. She totally doesn’t want to be queen but it comes with some fun perks like the ability to withstand sunlight, holy water, and crosses. Also she’s pretty much impossible to kill.
The job also comes with a yummy hunk, Eric Sinclair. Eric becomes her consort and she’s pretty much stuck with him for the next thousand years. No hardship there except for the creeping around and sneakiness. You will love the Undead series.
