Sixth in the Dark Hunter series. Valerius Magnus is an uptight former Roman General who also happens to be a Dark Hunter. Smart ass Tabitha Deveraux is a tough as nails vampire hunter who mistakes Valerius for a daimon and stabs him. Tabitha is immediately attracted to Valerius as he is to her. Unfortunately, their romance may not even get off the ground.
Tabitha’s brother-in-law Kyrian is an old enemy of Valerius. Valerius is the grandson of the Roman general who tortured and killed Kyrian making him a Dark Hunter. The other hunters also hate Valerius. Tabitha is one of the few who learn the tragedies of Valerius’s life and his reasons for becoming a Dark Hunter.
These two opposites make a great pair, Tabitha may be the one who can soften the stone heart of this misunderstood hunter. Interesting new characters move this series forward and Kenyon offers more details on the mysterious Acheron, leader of the Dark Hunters.

My favorite vampire author is Sherrilyn Kenyon. My favorite book in the Dark Hunter series is Seize the Night. This book spoke to me. I can’t necessarily relate to him but I felt for him. I loved the way Sherrilyn makes each one of her books so different, even though they are all connected. Sherrilyn makes these books so interesting. She fuses love, romance and intense action into all of her books. She is an amazing writer and I am always waiting on the edge of my seat waiting for her new releases. The Dark Hunter series is innovative. She puts a new spin on old vampire folk tales and makes it work.

Out of all the dark-hunter novels. I love this one most. There was just so much in this book. I love Val when he first apear in Night Embrace. His story was wonderful. I love who he feel in love with. She was just great for him.
