Dark Need is the third book in the thrilling Darkyn series. Homicide detective Samantha Brown has had a difficult, deadly few years on the Fort Lauderdale police force and things are about to get a whole lot worse. She is investigating the murder of a woman and her only clue in the case is a gem encrusted medieval cross with the name Lucan inscribed on the back. Her prime suspect in the murder is a man who owns a goth nightclub near the scene, a man named Lucan. Samantha is immediately drawn to the seductive and mysterious Lucan. What she doesn’t know is that he is a centuries old vampire and the most dangerous of his kind, the Darkyn.
Lucan is disturbed by Samantha’s likeness to his long lost love. She is stirring up a dark passion and memories that are best forgotten. Samantha falls for him and is swept into the dangerous Darkyn politics and an ancient feud. The other Darkyn believe Lucan is past redemption but Samantha may be the one who can save him. The world of the Darkyn is a violent and disturbing underworld of vampires and the evil Brethren monks that stalk them. What makes the Darkyn novels so compelling is the dichotomy of good and evil. Dark Need has a gritty realism and some frightening and creepy characters that will keep you awake late at night. Balancing the darkness is the searing heat and eroticism that is generated between Samantha and Lucan. Dark Need is an exciting book and a must read especially for fans of the series.

I enjoyed If Angels Burn and bought three more Darkyn novels.
I was frustrated that nowhere in the books or websites does it tell
which order they go in. Yes, I have a basic need to read them in
order. Also, the websites are more about other books for sale then about the books I have, or other books by Lynn Viehl. So your books are great, your website not so great.

UGH!!! I am so frustrated!!! I cannot find a website for this author anywhere. I stumbled across this series by accident while I was waiting for Christine Feehan’s new book to come out, and I read every book in the Darkyn series as soon as I could get my hands on them. But I can’t find a website for Lynn Viehl to indicate when another book will be coming out or what specific order I was supposed to read the books in. I know that Robin of Locksley has a book coming out about him in the next year but no specifics……

I picked up “Private Demon” by pure randomness. (Sometimes I do that.) Since I didn’t read the first book, I had a hard time getting into the book and remembering all of the characters. However, I have a “thing” where if a book is in a series, I HAVE to read the entire series, even if I didn’t like the book. Private Demon just didn’t do it for me, but I am SO happy I pushed through it and continued on in the series.
I’m just starting Stay the Night, and am so excited. What I like about these books is that each book has it’s own story, but it also follows the longer theme of Alexandra. So overall, I have really enjoyed this series. After Stay the Night, I plan on going back and reading the first book, and maybe Private Demon again

I’m still reading Twilight Fall, and um……its ok theres just to much sex in the book for my tast. Now dont get me wrong it is a good book very good, I love romance books, just not the kind that are to detaily in when the charaicters are making love, and I know its a older book for older women, but I want to read a good romance book the ones that have passion not detailed sex passion, but love. I’m sorry if I being to judgemental, but thats just me, and I still love the book, and Lynn is still an excelent writter I hope she keeps on writing.
