MJD’s books are like a delectable piece of chocolate. You want to savor it for as long as possible but before you know it it’s over. Dead and Loving It is a collection of four short stories about the Wyndham werewolves and the vampires from the Undead series. The Wyndham werewolves were first introduced in her novel Derek’s Bane. The first story is Santa Claws about a lonely Scottish laird searching for a mate. Moping about the streets of Boston, Alec is distracted by the delicious smell of peaches coming from a sexy Santa on the corner. The second story is Monster Love about a vampire who gets more than he bargained for when he kidnaps a foul-mouthed werewolf babe. Richard doesn’t believe werewolves exist and Janet is about to make him a believer. Third up is There’s No Such Thing as a Werewolf about a blind werewolf doctor who is magically able to see a lovely young homeless woman. Unfortunately she’s trying to fling herself off a building at the time. Last, is A Fiend in Need about George the Fiend. Personally I’ve been waiting to hear more about George and MJD finally gives it to us. Antonia, a psychic werewolf travels to Minneapolis. All she knows, is that if she helps the queen Antonia will get what she needs. Hmmm, maybe a gorgeous fiendish vampire for a mate? One of the best things about MJD’s books is her delightful sense of humor and her penchant for mouthy, smart ass women. Like her book Really Unusual Bad Boys, this one is a touch more explicit than her usual fare. If you’ve never read her books, you are in for a serious treat. This one is a must read, get it now.
