Kick Ass is a collection of four short stories by three USA Today bestselling authors, and romance novelist Jacey Ford. Maggie Shayne kicks it off with The Bride Wore a .44, followed by MaryJanice Davidsons’s The Incredible Misadventures of Boo, next is Warfem by Angela Knight, and it wraps up with Painkillers by Jacey Ford. Only one of these stories is about vampires (MaryJanice Davidsons’) but it’s definitely worth picking up for the other ones, especially Angela Knight’s Warfem.

The Incredible Misadventures of Boo is about a albino vampire slayer. Boo is a very mysterious woman who hangs out in seedy bars and has a “don’t bother me” vibe. This woman can take care of herself but somehow ends up with a tag-a-long that she rescues from a vampire. Normally humans piss themselves when confronted with a fangs but the slightly geeky Eddie Batley thinks it’s really neat. He also has a bit of a crush on Boo. Boo’s next job is to stake a child killer vamp but she’s in for a big surprise when she finds out just who hired her. As usual MJD’s characters are people you want to get to know further. Hopefully she’ll write Boo into her Undead series.
