Kendall is a vampire and also a hunter for the Council, sort of a supernatural police force. She tracks down rouge vamps and shapeshifters that kill humans. She also hunts human serial killers when they cross her path. While tracking a murderous vampire Kendall becomes involved in an alley fight with the vampire and two bounty hunters get caught in the crossfire. Kane winter and shapeshifter partner Duke Monroe are bounty hunters stalking the same vampire as Kendall. Things go terribly wrong and Kane wakes up later with vague memories of what happened only knowing for sure that his partner and best friend was killed.
The incident makes Kane into a vampire hunter. One night in a bar he sees a face that seems incredibly familiar. He knows this beautiful redhead from somewhere, he just can’t place her though. Kane finally makes the connection that she appeared in the alley the night his partner died. Who is she and what did she have to do with Duke’s death? Kane with stop at nothing to find the answers to the questions haunting him even if it means killing this gorgeous, seductive vampire.
Kendall is trying to trap a serial killer when Kane interrupts her hunt. He may be only human but he can definitely keep up with Kendall’s evasive tricks. Kane is mentally one of the strongest humans she has ever met and it almost killed him when she forced him to forget what happend in that alley. She’s not willing to kill him this time and the combustive attraction between the two makes the situation even more volatile.
Kane is awakening feelings in Kendall that she thought were long dead. But, she will have to deal with an old familiar enemy from her past who has the ability to destroy her future. She needs the help of two powerful witches to survive. Then she can think about a future with the man who opens her heart and soul to the possibility of love.
