Review by Vicky London
Witchling is the first book in the Sisters of the Moon series. The D’Artigo Sisters are three half human, half-Faerie, members of the OIA (Otherworld Intelligence Agency). Camille, is a witch, Delilah, is a werecat, and Menolly, is a vampire. They are sent Earthside because their superiors consider them useless half-breeds. On earth, the girls find themselves in the middle of a coup attempt when Shadow Wing, the leader of the Subterranean Demon Realms, decides to to take over Earth and Otherworld.
The D’Artigos, who live in Seattle, must use every bit of power at their disposal to prevent the chaos that is about to erupt. With the help of their friends (and lovers) a human detective named Chase Johnson, a hunky dragon shapeshifter nicknamed Smoky, Iris the house sprite, and a sexy werefox, they must use all of their erratic and unpredictable talent to prevent the demons from taking over both worlds.
Witchling is an interesting and different kind of paranormal novel. Yasmine Galenorn has created a magical world that enjoys an uneasy coexistence with the modern earth world. Camille and her half-faerie sisters are not bound by human morality leaving opportunities wide open for multiple lovers. The story is very imaginative but is missing that key element that draws the reader in and makes them care about the characters. Witchling is from Camille’s point of view. The next book Changeling (out in June 2007) will be from the point of view of Delilah the werecat. The third book will be Darkling (December 2007) from Menolly’s point of view.

I thought that this book was outstanding. “Pure delight” It really took me into a world that I wish was real. I just bought Changeling and can’t wait to get started.
