Review by Vicky London

Just One Sip is an anthology of three fun and sexy vampire romances. Jennifer Ashley kicks things off with “Viva Las Vampires”. Meredith Black takes a trip to Las Vegas to try and get an interview with a reclusive casino owner for her new book. The vampire themed casino will be a perfect addition to her follow-up book on vampires but little does she know that she’s going to interview a real vampire. From the first moment that Stefan Erickson sees the lovely redhead Meredith, he knows that she will be the one to save him from death. Meredith isn’t convinced this tanned gorgeous god is a vampire and he’s going to enjoy proving it to her.

Second up is “Bring Out Your Dead” by Katie MacAlister where the worlds of the Dark Ones and The Guardians collide. Battling a demon lord is no sweat for a Dark One like Sebastian. He’ll do anything to claim his Beloved, even though she comes equipped with a herd of zombies, a spirit guide who speaks “franglais”, and a smart-alec vampire child. Ysabelle feels a soul deep connection to the handsome vampire who saved her from an imp attack. Getting him back his soul may not be that easy even though she has one to spare.

“Lucy and the Crypt Cassanova” by Minda Webber finishes off the book. Lucy Campbell is the host of a paranormal Jerry Springer show. Even though her ratings are high, she wants respect but somehow keeps getting caught up in a mess of witch, troll and goblin smackdowns. Her chance for a big story arrives the form of a Ka incubus who steals the youth from young women leaving them old crones or worse, dead. Poking her nose into this case could get her killed but has drawn the attention of her former lover and sexy vampire detective, Valmont DuPont.

Just One Sip’s three very enjoyable short stories will have you sighing over each happy ending. The best over all is Katie Mac’s contribution, which will satisfy fans of both her paranormal series. The weakest story (surprisingly) was Minda Webber’s for the simple reason that Lucy is just too dumb to live. Jennifer Ashley will be writing for a new paranormal series full of immortal warriors, witches, werewolves, vampires and Sidhe. Sounds like fun! Look for her book The Calling in May 2007.
