Review by Vicky London
I love J.R. Ward like a fat kid loves cake. Her Black Dagger Brotherhood books are some of the most delicious guilty pleasures. No one writes emotion like Ms. Ward and her books have a dark sensuality that is addictive. The brothers are all bad ass, leather-clad, testosterone-fueled sex machines. These vampires are *hot* and the series only gets hotter with the story of Butch O’Neil, former homicide detective and human mascot of the warriors. Butch has been living with the brothers but always feeling a little bit like the outsider. Especially when the woman he wants is a gorgeous aristocratic vampire who is way out of his league.
Since he can’t have Marissa, Butch is itching to fight alongside the brothers in their war against the Lessening Society. He gets his opportunity one night in a dark alley and nearly ends up dead. The Brotherhood calls on Marissa to help him. Her love for him is strong but it may not be enough to save him from the darkest evil and an ancient prophecy. Marissa’s life changes overnight when all she has ever known is stripped from her. She has freedom for the first time in three hundred years but suddenly long life looks like a curse when the man she loves is all too human.
On the downside, Lover Revealed has lame bad guys, and cheesy vampire language with gratuitous H’s thrown in. The best part of the book is the relationship between Butch and Vishous; so hot it gave me shivers. Thanks J.R., can’t wait for the next one Lover Unbound.

Well I was little confused, I thought Belle had the baby at the end of the last book and in Lover Revealed, she is still pregnent. Does any one have the anser for this? I wrote Ms. Ward and have not got an answer from her. Thanks ALL

I thought the same thing. The only thing I could think of is this book contains what happened within the 20 months that passed at the end of Awakened. I was confused too when Wrath said there was a pregnant female then I thought it was Beth.

LOVED IT! I thought this was a great book. I especially liked how she explored the relationship between Butch and V, but not at the detriment of Butch’s relationship with Marissa. I can’t wait for V’s book!

You must read the first three books to understand what happens at the end of Lover Awakened. It is 20 months later. I found all 4 books to be a great read. I know some of it is a little out dated (slang outtie?) but the story is great and the action is hot. The sexy scences between the men and their women is very, very steamy. I have read some parts over and over again. I will read as many as she writes.

the jump forward in time at the end of LA and then wen it picks up before bella has the baby didnt throw me at all. i love all of the bdb books and ont have a problem with any of the slang or the names of the brothers. and this book reveals a little more of the purpose the lessening society has–the omega’s jealousy of the scribe virgin. ive read these books multiple times and am impatiently waiting for the 5th book due out in september.

I really didn’t think I would like this series, boy was I wrong. Once I got past the brotherhood “slang”, I was hooked! Very steamy scenes between the worth males and their females. It’s not every vampire genre author that can combine such bad ass men with amazing emotional depth!

I love the slang, true? lol. These books have actually made me want to become a vamp! Yes, its weird, I know, but they’re that good. I’m just waiting to run into Rhage one day.

i love the lover revealed book, i m sure Ward would rewards us again by giving us a little more story about vishous and butch, including rhage, on the account of the fact that i love their sense of humour, and their deep love toward each other it’;s seemed special even though it seemed kinda little homo but i love it. it’s good for ward to write some good weird friendship, between butch and vishous. but i really enjopy to see more of them together at the other books. thank you.
