Warning: Spoilers

The Dead Girl’s Dance is book two in the Morganville Vampires series. The story begins again moments after Glass Houses ends. Shane’s father along with his motorcycle gang of vampire slayers has arrived. Unfortunately, it’s not the cavalry to the rescue. Shane’s father could destroy the fragile peace that Claire and her roommates have established with the vampires of Morganville.

Claire, Shane, and Eve have to find a way to stop the impending chaos before things end in a bloody mess. Michael has a trick or two up his sleeve that could tip the scales in their favor. But when Shane winds up under a death sentence it will be up to the girls to save the day with the help of some unexpected allies.

Rachel Caine has a talent for making you feel her character’s intense frustration and helplessness in their seemingly inescapable situations. The best part of the Morganville series is Claire’s ability to think her way out of just about any crisis. This sixteen year old doesn’t need any guy to rescue her, but sometimes a best girlfriend can come in handy. The next book in the series, Midnight Alley will be released October 2007. If you like the Morganville Vampires series, check out Rachel Caine’s Weather Warden series as well.
