Review by Vicky London
The Vampire of Venice Beach is the third book in Jennifer Colt’s McAfee Twins series. Kerry and Terry McAfee are crack private investigators who also happen to be identical twins. These totally opposite sibs know how to get their man, or woman in Terry’s case. Darby Applewhite (a.k.a. Ephemera, Queen of the Undead) hires the girls to provide security and promote the opening of the new Dark Arts gallery. But when Ephermera pops out of her coffin really dead the job quickly turns into a murder investigation.
Trying to track down a killer will take the twins through eclectic Venice Beach and an underworld of goth clubs and vampire dentists. Someone is trying to scare them off the trail of a killer but these girls aren’t intimidated. Kerry’s not afraid of killers but sexy Detective John Boatwright’s ardent advances just might have her running for the Hollywood Hills. There’s no time for nookie though, with a fanged foe on the loose.
The Vampire of Venice Beach is a crazy comedic mystery with heroines that will have you coming back for more. No need to have read the first two books to enjoy this book although you’ll want to go back and read The Butcher of Beverly Hills and The Mangler of Malibu Canyon to catch up with the hijinks of these highly amusing twins.
