Review by Vicky London

All Together Dead
is the seventh book in Charlaine Harris’s Sookie Stackhouse series. Sookie has been hired by the Queen of Louisiana to work a vampire summit in Rhodes. The Queen is in a precarious position after New Orleans has been destroyed by hurricane Katrina. The game of politics and alliances is a tricky one to play and Sookie will have to navigate the supernatural minefield. One wrong choice and it could be the difference between survival and an all out disaster. Sookie’s personal life is just as challenging. Finding out about Bill’s betrayal has thrown her for a loop but she has her new boyfriend, Quinn the weretiger, to keep her otherwise occupied. The relationship may be short though lived if Eric has anything to say about it.

I have to say I jumped for joy when All Together Dead showed up in the mail. I love Charlaine Harris and her southern vampires. In fact I love all of her books including her mysteries and the Harper Connelly series. This latest Sookie installment was good but it left me feeling a little sad . Sookie’s Mary Sue life being the girl (most everybody) loves was fun but the bloom is off the rose a bit. Hanging out with the vampires doesn’t seem so great for her anymore with people dying all around. Sookie has lost a lot of her innocence and if she’s not careful she could lose a whole lot more.
