Prophecy: Child of Light

Review by Vicky London

Prophecy: Child of Light is the first in F.E. Heaton’s Vampires Realm series. Prophecy is a young woman kept secluded in her family’s mansion outside of Prague. She breaks the rules and sneaks out one night to hunt for the first time. In a cemetery she encounters a vampire from an enemy family who calls himself Valentine. In that one night the course of her life changes forever.

She finds herself at the center of an ancient prophecy and kidnapped by Valentine, the very man who should be her executioner. Prophecy is told that she will be the one to destroy all demon-kind and humans. She must work with a man who is supposed to be her sworn enemy to avoid death at the hands of the vampire family Law Keepers. Their journey will take them to London for help from a friend who has knowledge of the scroll and it’s contents. Their flight across Europe will take them to Paris where Prophecy discovers hidden, unimaginable powers.

Valentine and Prophecy’s feelings for each other are unsure. He feels compelled to help her even though it means turning his back on his family and every ideal he ever held. Prophecy is reeling with the newfound knowledge of her secret past and uncertain future. Her feelings about Valentine seem to fuel her magic powers. Attraction grows as their survival is threatened. They will face their destiny in Romania in an epic battle between a vampire and werewolf army. Will they be able to save the world from destruction and see past old hatreds to a new beginning?

Prophecy: Child of Light is an engaging book with a well told story. Because the story unfolds over the course of three books, the relationship between Valentine and Prophecy is allowed to evolve at a natural pace. The tension between the two reaches a fevered pitch to where the slightest touch is loaded with sensual meaning. The action is fast paced and will keep you riveted to this vampire Romeo and Juliet story with a side of Armageddon thrown in.

This is a full length ebook available in both PDF and HTML format. You can order any of the Prophecy books and read an excerpt at Alinar Publishing.
