Halfway to the Grave is the first book in Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress series. Catherine “Cat” Crawfield is a half-vampire half-human who has made it her life’s work to kill every vampire she meets. Her hope is that one of them is her father - the man who destroyed her mother’s life. Cat picks the wrong mark one evening when she tries to lure a master vampire to his death. Bones, a vampire bounty hunter, turns the tables on her and forces her into an unlikely partnership.
Bones agrees to help Cat find her father in return for her helping him hunt vampires for bounties. She learns there are actually good vampires after training with the sexy British vamp who knows all the right moves. Being half vampire isn’t all bad but convincing her mother that she’s not half evil is an uphill battle. Just as she masters her new undead ass-kicking skills, the biggest bounty of all comes to town. A vampire that Bones has been hunting for over a decade is involved in a series of kidnappings. Things quickly spiral out of control, and Cat will have to make a crucial decision to save the people she loves. But whether Bones will fall in line is another question.
Halfway to the Grave is deliciously sexy. Cat transforms from a strong young woman to a bad ass killer by the end of the book. Bones is refreshingly different from the typical vampire hero. He’s not afraid to share his feelings and go after what he wants. The law enforcement aspect of the story could prove to be quite interesting and there’s plenty more road to travel with these two characters. that sounds like a very interesting read!

I loved this series and was upset to learn that the second book is not out yet. I really didn’t want to put it down and loved some of the lines between the characters!!!!
