Review by Vicky London

A Taste for Control is the third book in Patrice Michelle’s Kendrian vampire series. Duncan Moordor is a loner, a man who is always in control; from everything to his relationships to his music. One day he is called upon to rescue a kidnapped woman from James, a member of the Sythen vamipre clan. The first time Duncan sees Rose, he is captivated by her beauty and the first time he touches her, her feels a connection that he can’t explain.

Rose Sinclair is a PI looking for proof that vamipres exist and she finds more than she bargained for. Not only do vampires exist but in her quest for truth she has placed herself in the hands of a very dangerous vampire. Her presence triggers an ancient instinct in James that could prove deadly for both of them. Duncan is more dangerous to her heart, however. When he takes her into his protective custody their attraction to each other reaches a fevered pitch.

Both Rose and Duncan have surprises in store for them that will make them question their beliefs about themselves. An Irish goddess and a fierce guardian will teach them that in order to experience true love they need to give up control.

A Taste for Control is a much longer in depth story than the previous Kendrian books. Rose and Duncan’s relationship and their journey to find themselves and each other is very well written and nothing is glossed over. The addition of the Atruan priestesses to the story adds dimension to this vampire tale that helps to round out the series.
