Kitty and the Silver Bullet is the fourth book in the series about Kitty Norville. Kitty is a werewolf and a radio personality with a show called The Midnight Hour. Life has changed quite a bit over the past year after being exiled from her Denver pack. Kitty has become the voice of the paranormal community and she and her boyfriend Ben have become their own pack of two.

Going back to Denver is the last thing on Kitty’s list to do. Her old pack leader Carl said he would kill her if she ever returned. With a family member ill she has no choice but to go back to her old territory. Rick, a vampire who wants to take over the city asks Kitty for her help taking down the old master of Denver. In return he will help her get rid of Carl and save the werewolf pack from his cruelty.

Kitty’s not sure she’s ready to be a pack leader but when her family is threatened and an innocent is killed, there’s really no choice. Using brains over brawn is the only hope she and Ben have of succeeding and creating the pack she’s always wanted.

Carrie Vaughn is on my auto-buy list. I don’t even care what the plot is, if it’s a Kitty Norville book I know I’ll love it. This time was no exception. She makes you forget about real life for the space of a few hours and get lost in a fantasy world of vampires and werewolves. Kitty is one of those chicks that you could totally be friends with. She’s tough on the outside but soft and gooey on the inside. This book made me cry so of course I loved it. Kitty is finally coming into her own and it’s nice to see her getting a little happiness for once.
