Review by Vicky London

Dragon Wytch by Yasmine Galenorn is the fourth book in her Sisters of the Moon series. The D’Artigo sisters are operatives for the Otherworld Intelligence Agency. Due to a war in Otherworld the sisters have been on their own in a fight to keep a demon called Shadow Wing from invading earth. They all have their unique powers to use in the fight; Camille is a witched pledged to the moon mother, Deliliah is a werecat, and Menolly is a vampire.

I strongly suggest that you read the other books that come before if you have any hope of understanding what’s going on. It’s basically one really long book broken up into smaller chunks. Camille has an abundance of hunky men in her life. She has two lovers, the black skinned Svartan Trillian and the Japanese werefox Morio. Things get a bit more complicated when the sexy white dragon, Smoky calls in his payment for a favor. Camille has agreed to spend a week with Smoky in his lair. Spending a week in sexual thrall to a dragon is just what Camille needs.

A legendary unicorn gives a special gift to Camille that could help turn the tide in the war against the demons. The equinox portents change coming and Seattle is being overrun with goblins and trolls. Also the third spirit seal has surfaced and Shadow Wing is after it. Old powers are now rising and Camille will play a crucial role in setting the balance of the worlds right again.

The nice thing about Galenorn’s Sisters of the Moon series is that each book focuses on one sister. She doesn’t try to include the internal thoughts of all three which would make it incredibly long. So, each book allows you to get to know one of them more, with the others still in the picture but not clamoring for their own spotlight. Camille becomes a much more rounded character with the back story on her induction as a witch. The triad relationship she has with Trillian and Morio will change in a completely unexpected way. Dragon Wytch is a strong urban fantasy novel and not necessarily a (conventional) romance. Leave your your inhibitions at the door.
