It seems daily that HBO is putting out a new promo for the show True Blood, based on Charlaine Harris’s novels. There’s quite a collection of fake commercials and news excerpts to be found on YouTube. Here’s the latest, The Blood Copy Report. Click on the link if you can’t view the embedded video below.

Has anyone else watched the first episode?
*Blinks*
I suppose I should have known, what with it being on HBO, that it would be more Sopranos than Buffy. But the books are EXCELLENT, and the show was so very vulgar and, ah, explicit. In no way a show for little eyes (which means I shall have to watch it when my 2 year old takes her nap).
I think the biggest thing I didn’t like, aside from the foul language and the adult scenes, was the fact that Tara was supposed to be a woman who had overcome hardships on top of hardships to become a business owner; she was meant to be successful. But in the show she can’t hold a job, and she seems a very hateful person, which I never really asw her as in the books.
Obviously, I understand the idea of ‘creative license.’ And I did like the way they did the telepathy, where you literally heard everyone talking in their heads like you were being bombarded the way Sookie is. And I really like the fact that Sam says flat out in his head that he loves Sookie and always has.
*Tissue moment*
Overall, I’m not sure where I stand on the show, having only seen the one episode. The DVR is set to record the whole series - I suppose time will tell if it was worth setting that up.

I have to agree with most of what you’re saying Goddess. I finally did a post about it that you all can find below. I’d love to hear your thoughts about True Blood as the season goes on.
