The New York Times has a timely interview with Charlaine Harris. Her new Sookie Stackhouse book, Dead and Gone debuted at number one on the Times bestsellers list. Also Alan Ball’s TV spinoff on the series, True Blood is about to start season two on HBO June 14th. Harris comes across as a hard working author who is finally getting the rewards and recognition that she deserves.
One of the things I found funny in the article is the writer’s statement that Stephanie Meyer is the one who has made the paranormal genre the success it is today. Uh, not so. Even though her series is a hot mess now, Laurell K. Hamilton was hitting the best seller lists in the mainstream media long before Ms. Meyers came along.
