L.A. Banks (aka Leslie Esdaile Banks) writes the Vampire Huntress Legend series. The main character, Damali Richards is a vampire huntress (or slayer). She is the millennium Neteru, a special slayer who only comes every 1,000 years. The millennium Neteru is even more powerful than your average slayer and she has the ability to wreak havoc on the undead.
