Lynsay Sands writes the Family Argeneau Series which falls squarely in the paranormal romance category. Sands’s theory of vamipirism is pretty interesting. The Argenueau’s are Atlantean and apparently, the Atlanteans were very scientifically advanced. Scientists created microscopic nanos that were injected into the blood where they live and replicate. The nanos live off of blood and regenerate the body, repairing organs and damage due to aging. The body cannot make blood at a fast enought rate to feed the nanos so blood must be consumed and “ta da” we have vampires.
